Omalizumab with trade name Xolair, is an FDA-approved drug for the treatment of moderate to severe persistent asthma in adults and adolescents (12 years of age and above). It is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody. It selectively binds to human immunoglobulin E (IgE). Omalizumab inhibits the binding of IgE to the high-affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) on the surface of mast cells and basophils. Anti-Omalizumab antibody (15B12), mAb, mouse is produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of partner and B-lymphocytes obtained from a mouse immunized with omalizumab.
