Optimal dilution (usually 0.5 to 2 vol%) depends on factors such as the hardness of the water, the degree and type of contamination, temperature, etc.

The high emulsifying and dispersing capabilities prevent the redeposition of the loosened particles. Special surface-active substances facilitate the residue-free rinsing of the optical components once they have been cleaned.
