Blasticidin, Invivogen
This nucleoside antibiotic specifically inhibits protein synthesis by interfering with the peptidebond formation in the ribosomal machinery in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Resistance is conferred by the blasticidin resistance gene, bsr, derived from Bacillus cereus.
