BioRich 1 is a DMEM/F-12 powdered media blend enriched with trace elements. This permits the transition to 'serum-free' conditions reducing or eliminating the necessity for serum supplementation.

BioRich 1 with 10 common anchorage dependent cell lines commonly show increased yields from 8 to 114% when compared to standard media in normal serum-containing systems. BioRich 1 will support comparable growth to standard media (containing 10% serum) at reduced serum concentrations and in some lines will maintain growth at serum concentrations which will not support growth when using standard media.
