About this item

Product is purified mouse IgG1 (K) and buffer.
This product is suitable for use as a positive control in antibody identification screening techniques and is recommended as an ELISA coating antigen and control.

The total protein is determined by absorbance at 280nm. The product contains 1 mg of mouse IgG1. The product is tested for purity at 1.0 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mouse IgG1; no trace of IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3, IgA, IgM or non-immunoglobulin serum proteins is detected.

Mouse IgG1 (K) is purified from clarified mouse MOPC 21 ascites using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.02M TRIS, 0.15M sodium chloride, pH 8.1, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter and vialed.

IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defence of the neonate against infections. IgG1 is the most abundant of the IgG subclass.
