Resistin is a peptide hormone belonging to the class of cysteine-rich secreted proteins which is termed the RELM family and is also described as ADSF (Adipose Tissue-Specific Secretory Factor) and FIZZ3 (Found in Inflammatory Zone). Mouse resistin is produced by adipocytes and may be an important link between obesity and insulin resistance. Recombinant mouse resistin is a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two identical 95 amino acid chains, with a total molecular weight of 20.6 kDa.
Resistin Dimer Recombinant Protein is suitable as a control for polyclonal or monoclonal anti-Resistin Dimer in immunological assays.
- Protein/Peptide Type:Recombinant
- Source:E. coli
- Species:Mouse
- Storage Conditions:Store vial at 4 °C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL). For best results aliquot contents and freeze at –20 °C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Endotoxin Content:Measured by kinetic LAL analysis and is typically ≤ 1 EU/μg protein.
- Biological Activity:The activity is determined by its dose dependent ability to induce IL-8 production by human PBMCs and is typically less than 500 ng/mL.
- Gene ID:Q5BMX4
- Reconstitution Instructions:Restore with deionized water (or equivalent); 5µl (5-50µl)
