Tenotomy scissors have long handles and small, sharp blades with sharp or blunt wedge-shaped tips. The long handles allow adequate grip and control while dissecting or cutting in small or narrow areas. Stevens tenotomy scissors are available straight or curved, with sharp or blunt tips, in order to accommodate different procedures. Sharp tips allow precise dissection and cutting of delicate tissue, while blunt tipped blades are used more often for dissecting and cutting mucus membranes. Sklar Edge™ Tungsten Carbide Scissors provide an exceptionally durable and hard cutting edge. These scissors are designed to stay sharp for a significantly longer period of time than standard scissors. Sklar permanently bonds tungsten carbide inserts to the blades of the scissors which maximizes control and precision.
