Criterion™ XT Bis-Tris Precast Gels, Midi Protein Gels, Bio-Rad

Criterion™ XT Bis-Tris Precast Gels are formulated using a Bis-Tris buffer system (pH 6.4) and can be run with either XT MOPS or XT MES running buffers

Useful for screening new samples and evaluating sample preparation conditions
Laemmli-type separation
Run 2-D gels in less than a day
Near-neutral pH delays acrylamide hydrolysis significantly longer than Laemmli buffers
Very stable, with a 12 month shelf life at room temperature

The ability to use two different buffer systems provides the flexibility to obtain different separation profiles with only one type of gel. XT MOPS buffer system is commonly used for mid-sized proteins and XT MES buffer system for smaller proteins.

: Criterion™ XT Bis-Tris Precast Gels are packaged and sold in individual units: 1–2 gels can be run in Bio-Rad’s Criterion™ Cell, and 1–12 gels in the high-throughput Criterion™ Dodeca™ Cell.
