About this item
Soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. For most in vitro applications, EGF exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.5 to 25.0 ng/mL.
Expressed in: E. coli, Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per mg (1EU/mg), Biological Activity: Human EGF is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BALB/c 3T3 cells is <0.1ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 x 10^7 units/mg.
Epidermal Growth Factor, Human, Recombinant is a recombinant analog of human epidermal growth factor (EGF) that provides a potent and cost-effective mitogen for cell culture applications. It is ideal for both research and large-scale culture systems utilizing serum-free or low-level serum applications. It is effective in a variety of fibroblast and endothelial cell types and produces extremely potent results in cell culture. It is produced in a patented E. coli expression system free of animal-derived components.
The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 1 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20 °C for future use.
