For the detection of apoptotic cells by flow cytometry.
EGFP (enhanced green fluorescent protein) has emerged as an ideal fluorochrome for FACS analysis and fluorescent microscopy as it offers a more intense signal than wild-type GFP. It has Ex(max): 488 nm and Em(max): 530 nm. The green signal produced makes EGFP ideal for dual staining with propidium iodide (PI).
