Ethidium homodimer I used in nuclear staining
Supplier: Biotium
Ethidium Homodimer, first developed by Dr. Le Pecq and his colleagues, is a high-affinity fluorescent nucleic acid stain. It binds to both DNA and RNA in a sequence-independent manner and with a >30-fold fluorescence enhancement. The DNA binding of each Ethidium Homodimer covers four base pairs and is believed to occur by intercalation. Because the dye is highly positively charged, it cannot cross cell membranes to stain living cells. It is useful for detecting nucleic acids in solution, or for selectively staining dead cells with damaged plasma membranes.

Ethidium monoazide bromide (EMA) DNA/RNA binding dye
Supplier: Biotium
Ethidium monoazide bromide (EMA) is a fluorescent nucleic acid stain with a photoaffinity label. The dye, after photolysis, binds covalently to nucleic acids. The dye has been used to footprint drug binding sites on DNA, to modify plasmid DNA, and for labeling yeast cells for leukocyte phagocytosis assays.

Fluorescein diphosphate tetraammonium salt (FDP) ≥95% (by HPLC), high purity
Supplier: Biotium
FDP (fluorescein diphosphate, tetraammonium salt, high purity) is the most sensitive fluorogenic alkaline phosphatase substrate. It is also an excellent substrate for protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTPase) and thus the substrate of choice in the high throughput screening (HTS) for PTPase inhibitor. FDP itself is colorless, but the end product of the enzymatic reaction is the green fluorescent dye fluorescein.

FITC (fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate, fluorescein isothiocyanate isomer I) ≥98% (by TLC) amine-reactive fluorescent dye
Supplier: Biotium
FITC (fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate) is an amine-reactive fluorescein derivative for labeling proteins or other molecules containing primary amines.

Flubida-2 ≥95% (by TLC) fluorescent pH indicator
Supplier: Biotium
Flubida-2 has been used to detect pH at a specific site in a cell such as cell organelles by directing the probe to where avidin fusion proteins are located. The probe is a conjugate of biotin and fluorescein diacetate, which is nonfluorescent until the probe has entered the cells and hydrolyzed by endoesterases.Flubida-2 is membrane-permeable and thus can be delivered into cells via simple.

FLUO 3/AM ≥95% (by HPLC) fluorescent indicator, for calcium determination
Supplier: Biotium
Membrane-permeant AM ester form of Fluo-3 that can be loaded into cells via incubation. Fluo-3 AM ester itself does not bind Ca2 , but it is readily hydrolyzed to Fluo-3 by endogenous esterases once the dye is inside the cells. An important application of Fluo-3 AM ester is its use in high throughput drug screening.

FLUO 3/AM 1 mM in anhydrous DMSO fluorescent indicator, for calcium determination
Supplier: Biotium
Membrane-permeant AM ester form of Fluo-3 that can be loaded into cells via incubation. Because of the relatively low water solubility of the AM ester, the mild detergent Pluronic F-127 (catalog no. 59004) is often used as a dispersing agent to facilitate loading. Fluo-3 AM ester itself does not bind Ca2 , but it is readily hydrolyzed to fluo-3 by endogenous esterases once the dye is inside the cells. An important application of Fluo-3 AM ester is its use in high throughput drug screening.

Fluorescein methotrexate triammonium salt ≥95% (by HPLC) fluorescent dye
Supplier: Biotium
Fluorescein methotrexate is useful for studying anti-metabolite resistance and spontaneous gene amplification. The dye is actively taken up by cells and binds to dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) quantitatively.
