Established from the pleural effusion of a ductal carcinoma of the breast of a 54-year-old female. The cells carry receptors for a variety of steroids.
- T47D cell line human has been used:
- To study the effects of a polysaccharide–protein complex (PPC) isolated from metabolites of gut bacteria Raoultella ornithinolytica from the earthworm Dendrobaena veneta against Candida albicans
- Has been cultured and incubated with bone marrow-derived macrophages to study their migration and podosome formation
- To study the anti-proliferative effects of two novel classes of potential antimetabolites on T47D cells
