President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael Stubblefield is our President and CEO, a position he has held since May 2014. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Stubblefield served as a Senior Expert for Chemicals Practice of McKinsey & Company from 2013 to 2014. Prior to this role, Mr. Stubblefield held a variety of roles at Celanese Corporation from 1994 to 2012, including Vice President and General Manager, Advanced Engineered Materials and Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Stubblefield earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Utah, as well as an MBA from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Thomas A. Szlosek
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Thomas A. Szlosek is Avantor’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Mr. Szlosek oversees: Accounting; Business Support; Financial Planning and Analysis; Treasury; M&A; Investor Relations; Internal Audit; and Tax Functions at Avantor. He joined Avantor in December 2018, prior to which he spent 14 years with Honeywell, including the last five years as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Szlosek also spent eight years with GE Corporation, including three years as the CFO for GE Medical Systems, based in Asia, and two years as the CFO for GE Consumer Finance, based in Ireland. He is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from The State University of New York at Geneseo.
Executive Vice President, Strategic Partners
James Bramwell is our Executive Vice President, Strategic Partners. In his current role, Mr. Bramwell leads our customer relationships and contracts globally. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Bramwell served as VWR’s Senior Vice President, Strategic Partners, a position he held from June 2008 to November 2017. Prior to this role, Mr. Bramwell served in several roles at VWR, including Area Vice President of the Southwest U.S. and Mexico and Vice President of Major Accounts. Mr. Bramwell also served as the President of the VWR Foundation for four years. Mr. Bramwell earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Brigham Young University.
Dr. Ger Brophy
Executive Vice President, Biopharma Production
Dr. Ger Brophy is our Executive Vice President, Biopharma Production. In his current role, Dr. Brophy is responsible for developing and implementing our Biopharma Production offering to support the current and future needs of our customers. Prior to joining Avantor, Dr. Brophy held a variety of research and development, strategy, advanced systems, and business development positions with GE Healthcare Life Sciences, GE Healthcare Medical Diagnostics and Amersham for nearly 30 years. Dr. Brophy earned a Bachelor of Science in biotechnology, as well as a doctorate in molecular biology from Dublin City University in Ireland.
Executive Vice President, Services
Christophe Couturier is our Executive Vice President, Services. He has extensive strategic leadership experience in the life sciences industry. Mr. Couturier is responsible for our global Avantor Services business, supporting customer operations with our full suite of services offerings including: lab and production services; equipment services; procurement and sourcing services; clinical and biorepository services; and commercial kitting services. In addition, he leads the Avantor Business System and its associated LEAN processes. Prior to joining Avantor, Mr. Couturier led business areas of services, merger integration, general management, finance and consulting at life sciences companies, including more than a decade with MilliporeSigma. He earned a Master of Science in management from ESSEC Business School in France.
Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific (APAC)
Sven Henrichwark is our Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific (APAC). He has extensive leadership experience in the biotech, life science and medical technology industries. Mr. Henrichwark leads all commercial activities for our business in APAC. He is responsible for building our presence, with a special focus on China, by leveraging our broad range of capabilities, services and products. Prior to joining Avantor, Mr. Henrichwark spent more than 12 years at GE Healthcare including General Manager, Business Operations & Service for APAC. He also was General Manager, Global Commercial Bioprocess for GE Life Sciences, where he led commercial activities for biomanufacturing and the Protein Science business. Mr. Henrichwark also led medical technology investment activities for SPRIM Ventures and was CEO of Echosens, a medical technology company. He earned a Master of Science in microbiology from University of Duesseldorf.
Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Meghan Henson is our Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Ms. Henson is responsible for all aspects of our Company’s global human resources organization, including compensation and benefits, learning, talent development, workforce management and employee relations. She joined Avantor in January 2021, prior to which she served as CHRO for both XPO Logistics and Chubb Insurance. Earlier in her career she held various HR leadership roles at PepsiCo and was a management consultant at Deloitte and Willis Towers Watson. Ms. Henson was also a William Davidson Institute Fellow at Vietnam National Coal Corporation in Hanoi. She also served as an instructor at ACTY English School in Kyoto, Japan and Jinan University in Guangzhou, China. Ms. Henson earned an MBA and master’s degree in public policy from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies and political science from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Brand
Allison Hosak is our Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Brand. She is responsible for executive, employee and change communications, public relations / affairs, crisis communications, corporate identity and brand, corporate social responsibility / sustainability and strategic marketing communications. Over her tenure with the Company, she has helped foster Avantor’s growth and prominence as a global leader in life sciences. She has built an integrated communications and center of excellence organization from the ground up, executed three corporate rebrands, and supported multiple integrations and mergers. Ms. Hosak also led communications and branding for Avantor’s initial public offering (IPO) in May 2019. She earned an MBA in marketing from Lehigh University and Bachelor of Science in business administration – marketing with a minor in public relations from Kutztown University.
Executive Vice President, Global Operations & Supply Chain
Sheri Lewis is our Executive Vice President, Global Operations & Supply Chain. Ms. Lewis is responsible for all aspects of global operations, including manufacturing, supply management, supply chain, strategy and execution, distribution and transportation, and inventory optimization. She joined Avantor in January 2021, prior to which she served in senior supply chain operations roles at Medtronic, including Vice President, Global Operations for the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. She also served as Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Distribution and Logistics for all of Medtronic, with a focus on transformation and bringing forward the Integrated Business Planning Process (IBP). Prior to that, Ms. Lewis served in various leadership roles with Honeywell’s Aerospace Integrated Supply Chain organization. She earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Concordia University. She also completed the Leading Global Businesses Program at Harvard Business School.
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Justin Miller is our Executive Vice President, General Counsel. In his current role, Mr. Miller leads our global Legal organization. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Miller served as an attorney at Ballard, Spahr, LLP, an American Lawyer top 100 firm. Mr. Miller also spent 20 years in various leadership positions at DuPont, most recently as Associate General Counsel and Chief Litigation Counsel. In addition to his background in securities and corporate governance, he has extensive commercial experience in pharmaceuticals, electronic materials, and biotechnology. Mr. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law in the United States.
Executive Vice President, Biomaterials and Advanced Technologies
Mark Murray is our Executive Vice President, Biomaterials and Advanced Technologies. Mark brings extensive global sales leadership and general management experience in key related industries, including medical-grade materials. Mr. Murray leads the innovation and commercialization of our specialized biomaterials and high-purity silicone (NuSil) products. Prior to joining Avantor, he led strategic sales and marketing roles at McKinsey, Honeywell and most recently served as Vice President Global Sales, Material Solution at Celanese. He also led the company’s Global Emulsions & Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Performance Polymers business, including medical-grade materials used in tubing and packaging and excipients for pharmaceutical and medical device applications. Mr. Murray earned an MBA and Master of Engineering Management from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from The University of Texas.
Executive Vice President, India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA)
Devashish Ohri is our Executive Vice President for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa (IMEA). He has strategic commercial leadership experience within the life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Ohri leads sales, marketing and customer service for our business in IMEA. He played a key role in expanding our capabilities and infrastructure across the broader AMEA region. Prior to joining Avantor, Mr. Ohri served as Managing Director, South Asia for Life Technologies. Mr. Ohri earned an MBA from INSEAD and a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Stephen’s College. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Executive Vice President, Americas and Europe
Frederic Vanderhaegen is our Executive Vice President, Americas and Europe. He has a tenured background in strategic leadership in the life sciences, biopharmaceutical, medical device and research industries. Mr. Vanderhaegen leads our sales, marketing and customer service functions in both the Americas and Europe regions, as well as our global Sourcing and Laboratory Products Groups focused on solution-selling for critical workflows. Prior to joining Avantor, Mr. Vanderhaegen held leadership positions in organizations within the biopharma and life sciences industries, including Beckman Coulter, Tecan Group and MilliporeSigma. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, leading sales and services. Mr. Vanderhaegen earned an MBA from The Open University Business School and also holds engineering degrees in biochemistry and chemical engineering.
Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Mike Wondrasch is our Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In his current role, Mr. Wondrasch is responsible for all aspects of our Company’s global information and digital technology, including e-commerce, digital marketing and cyber security. Prior to joining Avantor, Mr. Wondrasch led IT organizations at Fortune 100 companies, including PepsiCo, AmerisourceBergen and Mars. Most recently, he served as Global Chief Technology Officer for Bunge, a leading agribusiness and food company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Villanova University in the United States and a Master of Science in computer engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
