This experiment shows how fast a vertical pendulum would swing, if it was placed on a foreign celestial body e.g. the moon or March. Phywe's variable g-pendulum can change the plane of oscillation from the vertical, a=0°, up to the horizontal plane, ie a=90°. When a=0°, g acts at full force.
