Mechanics Learning Activities
Avantor offers a complete catalogue of instruments and tools useful for demonstrating key, basic concepts of physics that are applicable to everyday life both in and out of the laboratory. Demonstrate core ideas such as acceleration down a plane, friction, potential and kinetic energy, electrical conductivity, magnetic fields, wavelengths and velocity of sound, and more. Durable educational materials are designed for heavy use with consistent levels of handling, and all models are easy to use.

Helmholtz coils
Supplier: ELWE LEHRGERAETEBAU KLINGENTHA
Used e.g. to form homogeneous magnetic fields. Two identical coils placed in parallel by means of three fastening devices. The coils can be connected in series or in parallel. To determine e/m, the wire beam tube is placed between the Helmholtz coils in such a way that the visible beam is perpendicular to the homogeneous magnetic field. The generated magnetic field can be measured with a magnetic field meter with hall elements. Specifications.

Motor, 12 V DC, with iron-free rotor
Supplier: ELWE LEHRGERAETEBAU KLINGENTHA
Motor with rotor that lacks iron and thereby has a very low moment of inertia, which in turn enables fast start and stop or change of direction of rotation. The time from start to maximum speed (3000 rpm) is only 11 ms. Can be used for experiments with mechanical oscillations. The motor is most conveniently operated with a function generator.

Centrifugal power device with experimental trolley
Supplier: CORNELSEN EXPERIMENTA
With the equipment, centrifugal forces that arise during a body's rotation around a specific axis can be measured and examined. The device consists of a plane with a path for a cart. On the underside there is a vertical shaft that is mounted in a bearing. The plane is made to rotate with a laboratory motor connected with a drive belt to the bearing. The experimental trolley is placed on the track and prevented from leaving the track by two bent steel wires. A wire is connected to the trolley that runs over a pulley and on to a dynamometer.

Hydrostatic paradox
Supplier: CORNELSEN EXPERIMENTA
Shows that the bottom pressure in a liquid depends only on the height and not the shape of the container. The fluid pressure is transferred via a rubber diaphragm to an adjustable hand. Comes with four containers of different shapes. Dimensions.

Ballistic pendulum and throwing device
Supplier: PHYWE
With a few simple steps, the ballistic pendulum is quickly rebuilt into a throwing device with a variable/variable firing angle. The ballistic pendulum, a common method for determining the speed of a pistol bullet, is to push them into a sandbag. With the ballistic pendulum, a harmless variant of this experiment can be performed in the classroom.

Diver, Cartesian
Supplier: PHYWE
Divers of glass, placed in a bottle filled with water. If the liquid pressure increases, water flows into the diver, whose average density increases. This results in the diver sinking to rise again towards the surface when the pressure is reduced.

Roller coaster
Supplier: PHYWE
The profile of the runway has been designed so that the experiments can be performed easily, quickly and safely. The length of the track (1,5 m) is more than sufficient for all conceivable physical experiments to be performed. The trolleys are equipped with overload protection in the form of a recessed, resilient wheel suspension. Characteristics.
