Deze meters meten de stroming via drukval over een laminair stromingselement (LFE). Omdat het stromingselement de stroming laminair maakt, vereist plaatsing in het proces geen rechte leidingen stroomopwaarts of stroomafwaarts van de meter, wat de installatie aanzienlijk vereenvoudigt. In vergelijking met thermische massatechnologieën biedt het LFE-ontwerp een ultrasnelle respons binnen 10 milliseconden en biedt het "instant on" zonder opwarmtijd.
Een geïntegreerd toetsenbord rond het display is alles wat nodig is om de unit te programmeren voor onderhoud. De 0 tot 5 VDC-uitgang maakt verzending mogelijk van de stroomwaarde naar een extern display, recorder of controller die een klep of pomp regelt.
