Hydrochloric acid

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a strong, monoprotic mineral acid formed by dissolving hydrogen chloride gas in water; it is highly corrosive and completely dissociates in aqueous solutions. It is widely used in laboratory and industrial settings for pH regulation, metal processing, and the production of organic and inorganic compounds.
