Ethyl acetate

Ethyl acetate (EtOAc) is a volatile ester (boiling point ~77 °C) with a pleasant, fruity odor. It is miscible with many organic solvents and partially soluble in water, making it a versatile solvent for extractions, chromatography, and coatings. Due to its high flammability and potential to irritate the eyes and skin, it should be handled in a fume hood with ignition sources controlled.
