PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are man-made chemicals found in many everyday products. Due to their exceptional resistance to environmental degradation, they’re often called “forever chemicals.” Growing concerns about their toxicity have led to several international regulations. Arne Egberts
Arne Egberts, born in the Netherlands, studied Chemistry at the Free University Amsterdam between 1986 and 1995. He began his career at Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, later becoming a Lead Assessor at Lloyd's Register and then joining JT Baker on pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry. With over 30 years in the field—14 of them at Merck Life Science Netherlands—he now serves as Technology Manager specializing in Analytical Chemistry at Merck.
