Envirocheck® contact slides are widely used to check critical control points (CCP's) within the HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point) for the microbiological hygiene control of surfaces in production lines and equipment. Additionally these slides can be used to check the microbiological hygiene status of liquids. The use of a variety of media on the contact slides allows the detection of organisms from liquids as well as surfaces. These slides provide semi-quantitative results for five different parameters. Easy incubation in the Cultura® mini incubator also reduces the necessary workspace. Each contact slide is packed in a PC tube, which protects the agar media against contamination before and after sampling.

This allows sampling of two surfaces with every slide. Testing with dip slides is a safe, reliable, economical and fast indicator of the presence of microorganisms. Dip slides, with a push cap, have a larger contact area.

Hold the bottle in the other hand and lightly apply pressure to the sampling area using the agar-agar slide; or 2. Apply directly to the middle of the swab brush if you have completed a swab sample; or 3. Immerse the agar-agar slide in the liquid to analyse. 4. Insert the slide into the bottle and screw back on. Place in the oven at 37 °C for 24/48 hours. To detect yeasts, increase the incubation by 24/48 hours at 25/30 °C.

HYCON® Contact Slides for microbial monitoring of flat and curved surfaces are designed as standardised agar media in a flexible foil. Their unique design makes them universal tools for easy microbial monitoring of flat and curved surfaces. The choice of formulations includes total count media as well as selective media for yeasts and moulds, and for coliform organisms. Each contact slide is welded shrink-wrapped into a resealable sleeve to enable individual strips to be safely sterilised a number of times by peroxide gassing.
