Reconstitution: Reconstitute with water to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml (use 1 ml for the 1 mg size or 5 ml for the 5 mg size) for a final solution of 1 mg/ml in 0,40 mM sodium phosphate, 6 mM NaCl, pH 7,45. Reconstitute with water to a final concentration of 25 mg/ml (0,2 ml water for the 5 mg size). This concentration of the lectin has been used for iontophoresis and neuron transport.

This product is the lyophilized powder of fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate (FITC "Isomer I")-conjugated goat IgG fraction to human IgM (5Fc µ) and buffer salts.The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure with bovine albumin as the standard; F/P ratio is calculated using absorbance at 491.5nm. Antibody titer of the IgG fraction is standardized by equivalence-point precipitation. The IgG fraction is tested for purity and specificity at 40 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly goat IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.

The antiserum is prepared by hyperimmunizing goats with human serum. The resulting antiserum is delipidated and dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, with 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized.

The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Antibody titer is standardized with an in-house control by immunoelectrophoresis. Each antiserum is tested for specificity at a minimum of 80 mg/ml using immunoelectrophoresis. It shows reactivity to human serum; cross-reactivity to other species may exist.

Reconstitute product with 2.0 ml of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.

Store lyophilized product at 2-8°C. Store reconstituted material no longer than 4 weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage, aliquot
and freeze reconstituted product at -20°C or lower.

Warning and Caution: This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strongly acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water.

Gelatin is a heterogeneous mixture of water-soluble proteins of high average molecular weights, present in collagen. The proteins are extracted by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, bones, etc. in water. Type A gelatin is derived from acid hydrolysed tissue. The charge on a gelatin molecule and its isoelectric point are primarily due to the carboxyl amino and guanidino groups on the side chains. Type A gelatin has 78 to 80 millimoles of free carboxyl groups per 100 g of protein and a pI of 7,0 to 9,0.
