High purity qualitative filter paper

High purity qualitative filter paper

Supplier: Ahlstrom-Munksjö

Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s qualitative grades of filter paper are recommended for use in analytical methods which determine or identify particulate constituents of a mixture irrespective of the amount present. Qualitative filter papers are often used in routine separation work that still requires high purity and consistent performance. These filter papers covers a wide range of laboratory applications, as liquids clarification, qualitative analytical separations for precipitates and buffers filtration, and are also used for soil analysis and in food and beverage testing. Wet-strengthened grades contain a reinforcement agent that increases their resistance to rupture when wet, such as in vacuum filtration, and their resistance when filtering acidic solutions.

Anti-KLK9 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor® 680)

Supplier: Bioss

Kallikrein 9, also known as Kallikrein-Like 3 (KLK-L3), is a chymotrypsin-like serine proteinase. Kallikrein 9 was discovered as the locus for kallikreins on chromosome 19 was more fully mapped and found by similarity to the other tissue kallikreins. Kallikrein 9 has been found in the ovary, thymus, testis, prostate, skin, breast and neuronal tissues and is made by many cell lines in culture. Kallikrein 9 levels in breast cancer and uterine cancer patients have been reported to drop as the disease progresses, thus hK9 might be considered a favorable prognostic marker. Different splice variants of hK9 have been reported, although it is not yet known if they produce functional proteins. The full length Kallikrein 9 encodes for a 250 amino acid protein, with a predicted mass of 27.5 kDa and a pI of 7.53. The 234 amino acid form predicts a protein of 26 kDa with a pI of 9.76 and this quite basic pI might give the shorter form a very different function or localisation. The shorter sequence also diverges before the catalytic serine residue, making it unlikely to be proteolytically active. Pre-pro-kallikrein 9 has the 17 amino acid signal sequence is removed before secretion, and the Pro-kallikrein 9 is activated to Kallikrein 9 by removal of the 5 amino acid propeptide domain.

Anti-HPV33 E6 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor® 750)

Supplier: Bioss

Human papilloma viruses (HPVs) can be classified as either high risk or low risk according to their association with cancer. HPV16 and HPV18 are the most common of the high risk group while HPV6 and HPV11 are among the low risk types. Approximately 90% of cervical cancers contain HPV DNA of the high risk types. Mutational analysis have shown that the E6 and E7 genes of the high risk HPVs are necessary and sufficient for HPV transforming function. The specific interactions of the E6 and E7 proteins with p53 and pRB, respectively, correlate with HPV high and low risk classifications. The high risk HPV E7 proteins bind to pRB with a higher affinity than do the low risk HPV proteins, and only the high risk HPV E6 proteins form detectable complexes with p53 in vitro. Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are small DNA viruses which infect epithelia of the skin and mucosa. Over 90 types have been identified and they mostly cause a variety of benign lesions such as warts and verrucae. However, some subtypes, notably types 16 and 18, 31 and 33, have been confirmed as agents which cause cervical cancer. The E6 protein is a transcriptional transactivator. Binds double-stranded DNA. This protein may be involved in the oncogenic potential of this virus (cervical neoplasia-associated virus).

Anti-Frizzled 5/8 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor® 750)

Supplier: Bioss

Members of the 'frizzled' gene family encode 7-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for Wnt signaling proteins. The Frizzled 5 protein is believed to be the receptor for the Wnt5A ligand. Frizzled 5 has been reported to be expressed in foetal kidney, foetal and adult liver, foetal lung, and adult pancreas. ESTs have been isolated from bone, liver/spleen, placenta, and prostate libraries. Frizzled 5 was cloned from a retina cDNA library. Receptor for Wnt proteins. Component of the Wnt-Fzd-LRP5-LRP6 complex that triggers beta-catenin signaling through inducing aggregation of receptor-ligand complexes into ribosome-sized signalosomes. The beta-catenin canonical signaling pathway leads to the activation of disheveled proteins, inhibition of GSK-3 kinase, nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin and activation of Wnt target genes. A second signaling pathway involving PKC and calcium fluxes has been seen for some family members, but it is not yet clear if it represents a distinct pathway or if it can be integrated in the canonical pathway, as PKC seems to be required for Wnt-mediated inactivation of GSK-3 kinase. Both pathways seem to involve interactions with G-proteins. May be involved in transduction and intercellular transmission of polarity information during tissue morphogenesis and/or in differentiated tissues. Coreceptor along with RYK of Wnt proteins, such as WNT1.

Anti-GSK3A Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: 1H8]

Supplier: Enzo Life Sciences

Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3β (GSK-3β) is a unique serine/threonine kinase that is inactivated by phosphorylation. In response to insulin binding, PKB/AKT phosphorylates GSK-3β on serine 9, which prevents GSK-3β from phosphorylating glycogen synthase. Unphosphorylated glycogen synthase is active and able to synthesize glycogen. GSK-3β is also unique in that it requires a substrate that has been phosphorylated by a distinct kinase before it can phosphorylate the substrate. This phosphate priming mechanism explains why phosphorylation of serine 9 inactivates GSK-3β. The phosphorylated serine binds to the GSK-3β priming phosphate position and prevents binding of alternative substrates. In addition to insulin signaling, GSK-3β participates in the Wnt signaling pathway, where it forms a complex with axin, beta-catenin and adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein. In the presence of Wnts, GSK-3β is unable to phosphorylate beta-catenin, which leads to stabilization of beta-catenin. The Wnt pathway inactivates GSK-3β via the proteins, Dishevelled and FRAT, which disrupt the interaction of GSK-3β with axin, beta-catenin, and APC. Clinically, there is considerable interest in GSK-3β inhibitors because they may mimic the effect of insulin or reduce the hyperphosphorylation of Tau that is observed in Alzheimer's Disease.

Anti-ACVR1B Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor® 750)

Supplier: Bioss

Transmembrane serine/threonine kinase activin type-1 receptor forming an activin receptor complex with activin receptor type-2 (ACVR2A or ACVR2B). Transduces the activin signal from the cell surface to the cytoplasm and is thus regulating a many physiological and pathological processes including neuronal differentiation and neuronal survival, hair follicle development and cycling, FSH production by the pituitary gland, wound healing, extracellular matrix production, immunosuppression and carcinogenesis. Activin is also thought to have a paracrine or autocrine role in follicular development in the ovary. Within the receptor complex, type-2 receptors (ACVR2A and/or ACVR2B) act as a primary activin receptors whereas the type-1 receptors like ACVR1B act as downstream transducers of activin signals. Activin binds to type-2 receptor at the plasma membrane and activates its serine-threonine kinase. The activated receptor type-2 then phosphorylates and activates the type-1 receptor such as ACVR1B. Once activated, the type-1 receptor binds and phosphorylates the SMAD proteins SMAD2 and SMAD3, on serine residues of the C-terminal tail. Soon after their association with the activin receptor and subsequent phosphorylation, SMAD2 and SMAD3 are released into the cytoplasm where they interact with the common partner SMAD4. This SMAD complex translocates into the nucleus where it mediates activin-induced transcription. Inhibitory SMAD7, which is recruited to ACVR1B through FKBP1A, can prevent the association of SMAD2 and SMAD3 with the activin receptor complex, thereby blocking the activin signal. Activin signal transduction is also antagonised by the binding to the receptor of inhibin-B via the IGSF1 inhibin coreceptor. ACVR1B also phosphorylates TDP2.

Anti-Alpha B Crystallin Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor® 750)

Supplier: Bioss

Crystallins are separated into two classes: taxon-specific, or enzyme, and ubiquitous. The latter class constitutes the major proteins of vertebrate eye lens and maintains the transparency and refractive index of the lens. Since lens central fibre cells lose their nuclei during development, these crystallins are made and then retained throughout life, making them extremely stable proteins. Mammalian lens crystallins are divided into alpha, beta, and gamma families; beta and gamma crystallins are also considered as a superfamily. Alpha and beta families are further divided into acidic and basic groups. Seven protein regions exist in crystallins: four homologous motifs, a connecting peptide, and N- and C-terminal extensions. Alpha crystallins are composed of two gene products: alpha-A and alpha-B, for acidic and basic, respectively. Alpha crystallins can be induced by heat shock and are members of the small heat shock protein (sHSP also known as the HSP20) family. They act as molecular chaperones although they do not renature proteins and release them in the fashion of a true chaperone; instead they hold them in large soluble aggregates. Post-translational modifications decrease the ability to chaperone. These heterogeneous aggregates consist of 30-40 subunits; the alpha-A and alpha-B subunits have a 3:1 ratio, respectively. Two additional functions of alpha crystallins are an autokinase activity and participation in the intracellular architecture. Alpha-A and alpha-B gene products are differentially expressed; alpha-A is preferentially restricted to the lens and alpha-B is expressed widely in many tissues and organs. Elevated expression of alpha-B crystallin occurs in many neurological diseases; a missense mutation cosegregated in a family with a desmin-related myopathy.
