The rugged encapsulation protects against splintered glass or display-fluid leakage. The protective coating is remarkable for its high transparency and quick response time allowing easily legibility. It provides temperature resistance (up to 250 °C) and hence sterilisability, and a high degree of acid and alkali resistance (hydrofluoric acid).
