About this item

Mononuclear cells used for researching the causes, diagnosis, supportive care and treatment of Diabetes Mellitus 2 (DM2), the most common form of diabetes. Human mononuclear cells are collected from human volunteer donors diagnosed with DM2 under IRB approved informed consent by whole blood or leukapheresis using the COBE® Spectra Apheresis System MNC collection protocol.

  • Cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 media

Donors are tested on day of collection for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV 1/2.

Storage: Either prepare cells for long term storage in liquid nitrogen vapour phase or thaw for use. Storage in liquid phase nitrogen is NOT recommended. Short term storage of cells (less than 2 weeks) at –80 °C is acceptable, but should be minimised to ensure maximum stability. Once thawed, samples must be used immediately.

Caution: Intended for only research use and not for direct therapeutic or diagnostic use in human or animals, or for further manufacturing of therapeutic products or devices.
