Seals

A variety of seals for the protection of lab samples from contamination are available at Avantor. Secure microplate samples with films, foils, and sealing tapes; select products appropriate for ELISA, PCR, cold storage, and general incubation. Sealing mats minimize evaporation and eliminate cross-contamination. For beakers, flasks, petri dishes and other labware, choose sealing films that are heat or chemical resistant. Insure sample integrity with security seals that provide evidence of tampering. Mechanical seals are also offered.

Adhesive seal, AMPLIseal™

AMPLIseal™ is a self-adhesive sealing film notable for its low autofluorescence, in particular in the wavelength range critical for Real Time PCR. It consists of a thick PP film coated with a transparent acrylate adhesive. The adhesive layer is protected by a peelable polyester film. The strongly adhering acrylate adhesive provides reliable sealing, thereby minimising evaporation but without influencing the PCR reaction or the fluorescence measurement.

Adhesive seals

These adhesive seals offer an alternative to heat seals or sealing mats. EASYseal™ is a transparent adhesive film designed to cover microplates to protect samples from evaporation and contamination. It is suitable for routine laboratory use, including ELISA applications. BREATHseal™ is a gas permeable, pierceable membrane coated with an acrylic adhesive. It is ideal for bacterial, yeast and cell culture applications, assuring the protection of cell contents from contamination whilst maintaining oxygenation.
