A water-soluble, neutral, and odorless disulfide reducing agent that is more stable and effective than DTT. THP is comparable with TCEP as a reducing agent. Its reduction capacity against oxidised glutathione is 0,232 meq/g (TCEP has a reduction capacity of 0,182 meq/g). THP is also more resistant to air oxidation as compared to DTT.
