Air Analysis Applications
Find the right air monitoring method and materials for detecting and quantifying diverse contaminants and particulates for many industrial applications. Merck offers air sampling products for ASTM, NIOSH, OSHA, US EPA, California Air Resources Board (CARB) and European methods. Air monitoring products include products for active, passive and whole air sampling.
Active sampling is performed by drawing air through a type of adsorbent media such as an ORBO tube, thermal tube, filter or impinger using an air pump.
Passive sampling is achieved when contaminated air enters the device by diffusing onto the adsorbent media inside the device.
A whole air sample is collected when the air is drawn into some sort of vessel. In addition to your media needs, Merck offers a comprehensive list of chemical reference standards.
