Composed of a stainless steel plunger with pure PTFE head and a precision borosilicate glass vessel.

Plungers are available plain for softer tissues, or serrated for harder tissues. Tissue grinders are inert and non-contaminating. Standard clearance (between plunger and glass): 0.15–0.25mm.
