Dichotomous keys are used to classify and identify objects or living organisms. Guide students through the process of using keys with several real-world examples, just like scientists. Includes seven different activities, ranging from easy to challenging and basic to scientific, allowing students of differing abilities to readily learn to use a key. Culminating activities include constructing a tree key to your own school and using a dichotomous key to identify seashells using scientific names.
