ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene) tubing is chemically inert and suitable for higher pressure applications (when using aqueous mobile phases) than PTFE, FEP and PFA.

Note: Due to swelling with some amines and inorganic acids, the pressure rating on ETFE tubing when using these types of solutions is decreased. The Black 1515 tubing is for light-sensitive applications. Because of the proprietary process used in extruding this tubing, color permanence is ensured.

Additionally, because it is more rigid than PTFE, FEP and PFA, ETFE tubing better resists inner diameter collapse. ETFE tubing is also less gas permeable than PTFE, FEP, and PFA tubing.
