Recommended whenever perchloric acid is used in combination with other corrosive inorganic reagents.
Interior and integral bottom with drainage trough are constructed of heat-welded Type I unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
Perchloric acid hoods feature tempered safety glass sash. Acid digestion hoods utilize LEXAN® plastic sash to resist hydrofluoric acid exposure. Hoods have a glacier white powder-coated steel exterior.
Hoods are factory prepared for up to eight service fixtures and four electrical duplexes. They are supplied with two pre-plumbed service fixtures with forged brass valves; lower right side with brass tubing and plastic serrated hose connector for gas, and lower left side with gooseneck faucet for cold water. Components for converting gas fixture to air and vacuum are provided. Hoods have a 32.4 cm (123/4") O.D. exhaust collar.
A black, enamel-coated hardboard surface supports the integral work surface. Built-in washdown system with internal piping and spray nozzles facilitates removal of hazardous chemical residue from hood interior and ductwork. Pre-wired LED lighting rated to 50000 hours gives a bright, nonglare working surface. The 73.6 cm (29.1") interior depth permits use of oversize apparatus.
