This benchtop stoppering tray dryer and lyophilizer uses dual CFC/HCFC-free refrigeration systems in series to cool the collector coil to –85°C (–121°F), ideal for freeze drying samples with low eutectic points. The refrigeration systems work in concert with a 1000W heater for cooling and heating fluid medium circulating through channels in the shelf from –55 to 50°C (–67 to 122°F), or to a pre-freeze shelf temperature of –75°C (–103°F). The stainless steel collector coil is capable of removing 1.8L (0.49gal.) of water in 24 hours and can hold 2.5L of ice before defrosting. A microprocessor controls the circulating fluid temperature to ±1°C of set point.
- Upright stainless steel collector coil capable of holding 2.5L of ice before defrosting
- Lyo-Works™ OS offers expanded programs, real-time graphs and one-touch data collection on full color 5" capacitive touch screen display
- Alerts can be emailed to user-entered email addresses for remote monitoring
Systems also feature a brushed stainless steel and glacier white, epoxy-coated steel exterior with blue accents, a stainless steel condensate pan with drain hose, a rear-mounted RS-232 port to transmit data, and a pneumatic stoppering mechanism that inflates the diaphragm and lowers the stoppering platen above the shelf, with no compressed gas required.
The 60Hz model is ETL and ETL-C listed. The 50Hz model is CE marked.
The upright stainless steel collector coil holds 2.5 liters of ice before defrosting. Two 1/3 hp HCFC/CFC-free refrigeration compressors cool the collector to -85° C (-121° F), suitable for aqueous or dilute acetonitrile samples. Temperature-controlled shelves range from -55° C to +50° C (-67° F to +122° F) and a maximum of -75° C (-103° F) during pre-freezing. The shelves provide pneumatic stoppering with a diaphragm, eliminating the need for compressed gas. The space between the processing shelf and top of chamber accommodates containers with stoppers up to 148 mm maximum height. Other Triad features include a Pirani vacuum sensor and four valve ports for flasks.
FreeZone exclusive features protect the vacuum pump from damage. A vacuum break valve bleeds air into the system when power to the freeze dryer or vacuum pump is shut off for more than 5 minutes so moisture from the melting samples does not end up in the pump. If the vacuum level is higher than 5 mBar for 30 minutes, the vacuum pump will automatically turn off, preventing pump damage.
