About this item

This system is specifically designed for the transformation of bacterial cells and the transfection of certain mammalian cells.

The High Voltage (HV) mode is optimal for electroporation of E. coli and other bacteria and yeast, and for applications such as the construction of cDNA libraries or mutagenesis. The Low Voltage (LV) mode uses settings that are ideal for the transfection of certain mammalian cells, such as lymphoid, myeloid, glial, fibroblast, and Cos 7. Additional protocols may be optimized by varying the voltage and/or pulse length. Voltage is changed by adjusting the voltage adjustment knob. Pulse length is adjusted by varying the sample volume.

System is powered by a universal input of 100–240V, 50/60Hz. Single-dial control and three-step operation make this system easy to use. LCD digital read-out displays pulse length and peak voltage. The personal cuvette holder is color-coded to reduce possible cross-contamination. Meets EC requirements and complies with EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and 73/23/EEC for product safety.

Ordering information: System 58017-984 includes one ECM® 399 generator with power supply, one PEP™ (personal electroporation Pak), cuvettes 1mm, 2mm, 4mm pack of 30 (10 each), and a cuvette rack with twenty numbered positions. System 82020-822 includes ECM® 399 generator with power supply only. All items include a manufacturer's two-year warranty.
