About this item

SiliaPlate™ TLC Plates are an optimal choice for quick, inexpensive, versatile and classical separations, that can purposefully be functionalized for extra selectivity toward your analyte.

  • High chemical resistance (both toward solvents or vizualisation stains)
  • High heating stability and charring resistance,
  • High-resolution separations
  • Fast, accurate & reproducible separations
  • No chipping off of silica layer
  • Easy cutting
  • Very best value for money on market.

As far as TLC coatings are concerned, unfunctionalized silica gel matrix usually steal the show as it's by far the most universal matrix for all kind of purification needs

In normal phase separation, the mobile phase is less polar than the stationary phase Aluminium oxide is the second most frequent sorbent after silica gel. It exhibits similar polarity as the latter. Particularly adapted to terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds, we recommend activation of the sorbent by heating 10 minutes at minimum 120 ⁰C for optimal use (heating gun, oven, hot plate...).

C18 phase is a blockbuster for the separation of low to high polarity in reversed phase mode.

Diol phase is an ideal one for difficult sepration of low to medium polarity samples.

Cyano phase is a very verstatile sorbent as it is enough flexible to be used in both normal or reversed phase! A little less polar than plain silica with slight hydrophobicity, it offers alternative selectivity and a favorite choice for organic molecules with intermediate to extreme polarity.
