Hydrochloric acid

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) is a strong, monoprotic mineral acid formed by dissolving hydrogen chloride gas in water; it is highly corrosive and completely dissociates in aqueous solutions. It is widely used in laboratory and industrial settings for pH regulation, metal processing, and the production of organic and inorganic compounds. Due to its reactivity, it must be handled with appropriate safety measures, including chemical-resistant materials and proper ventilation.
