A major limitation of membrane hybridisation is speed. At commonly used probe concentrations (2 to 10 ng/ml), hybridisation normally takes 16 hours to detect single-copy gene sequences in mammalian DNA. Use of Rapid-hyb buffer reduces this time to 2 hours using similar probe concentrations.

Store at ambient temperature. Under these conditions the product is stable for at least 3 months.
