Ductless fume hoods are designed to protect personnel by filtering out dangerous fumes and vapors so that air can be safely recycled back into the work space in an energy-efficient way. These exhaust hoods are fitted with fans that force the air in a specific direction where it has to pass through several types of carbon filters including HEPA filters where pollution molecules are captured. Giving a high protection performance and biological safety, the ductless hood protects the operator from generated gases. Without the additional ducting system requirement, these enclosures are more mobile and flexible for positioning.
Ductless fume hoods, Paramount®
Supplier: LABCONCO
Self-contained ductless enclosures allow safe handling of organic, formaldehyde, acid gas, sulphur compounds, or ammonia chemical fumes and vapours, as well as particulates. Air inside the enclosures passes through carbon filters, and in some cases additional HEPA particulate filters, before being safely exhausted back into the laboratory. No outside ducting is required.
