Standard shaped separating funnels use gentle inversion which shakes the funnel to divide different densities within a mixture. The instruments feature quick closing taps that release excess vapor pressure before the separation takes place. The stopcock is closed till the aqueous solution is at the bottom layer and released in small amounts when the pressure builds up. Multiple featured openings allow for different components to empty simultaneously. Lower stem diameters come in large sizes for fast and complete partitioning. Autoclavable options compatible with common organic solvents or harsh chemicals come in a range of capacities. Stoppers and stopcocks may be included.
