PRP-1 polymeric HPLC columns are designed for broad ranging uses, similar to C8 or C18 HPLC materials. They combine the best characteristics of silica-based and polymeric columns resulting in highly inert and long-lasting columns. These columns are ideal for applications that require a high degree of column to column and batch to batch consistency (quality assurance, clinical trials). Unlike C8 or C18 columns, PRP-1 has no stationary phase coating. Since there is no stationary phase to hydrolyse, the column maintains its performance characteristics longer than many C8 or C18 columns.

A fast, versatile HPLC column packing material. These columns rapidly and easily separate closely related alcohols and organic acids without column heating. The sulfonated poly(styrene-divinylbenzene) support separates samples by a mixed mode mechanism. A wide range of samples can be analysed with these columns because the selectivity of the column can be altered by changing the pH of the buffer or adding an organic modifier (methanol, acetonitrile) to the buffer. The stability to organic solvents makes it possible to analyse samples that have been too highly retained on conventional ion exclusion supports.

Macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) is a homodimeric cytokine that belongs to receptor tyrosine kinase subclass III of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. M-CSF acts on a CSF-1 receptor tyrosine kinase, which initiates signaling cascades to support cell proliferation and differentiation (Hamilton). M-CSF is produced by endothelial cells, osteoblasts, and during pregnancy by the uterine epithelial cells (Ryan). M-CSF synergizes with other factors to support proliferation and differentiation of multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells, and regulates proliferation and differentiation of the mononuclear phagocyte progenitor cells to monocytes and macrophages. It also supports survival, proliferation, and function of the differentiated macrophages and regulates differentiation of mononuclear phagocytes to osteoclasts (Pixley and Stanley). M-CSF plays an important role in the implantation of the embryo and early development (Makrigiannakis et al.).
