About this item

The Leica DMi8 features the most comprehensive range of condenser systems, now expanded further with the advanced S40/0,40 condenser head for Differential Interference Contrast (DIC).

  • Free working distance 1 to 40 mm (dependent on the condenser head)
  • Seven-position condenser disk to accommodate light rings, IC prisms or slit diaphragms (3 positions with Ø 23 mm and 4 positions with Ø 32 mm)
  • Polariser interface, 25 mm field of view
  • Height and field diaphragm adjustments for Koehler Illumination
  • Aperture diaphragm
  • All transmitted light contrast methods available (BF, PH, DF, Pol, DIC, IMC)
  • Adjustment tools and tool box
  • Magnifications from 4 - 100X

An optimal choice when long working distances are needed, but high resolution cannot be sacrificed, the S40/0,40 condenser system features a free working distance of 40 mm and a numerical aperture of 0,40. When your experiments call for additional contrast methods, the S40/0,40 condenser provides a high quality solution. This condenser is suitable for darkfield contrast at objective apertures of up to 0,40, and inserts for integrated modulation contrast/integrated phase contrast are also available. For DIC, all inserts and Wollaston prisms are identical to the S28 and S23 condenser heads, making upgrades to this condenser simple.

A great balance between high resolution and free working distance. Perform ICSI and IMSI using micromanipulators. Excellent working area for trangenics work, such as embryonic stem cell transfer, pronucleus injection, and CRISPR techniques. Use with all transmitted light techniques: brightfield, phase contrast, darkfield, polarisation contrast, differential interference contrast, integrated modulation contrast, integrated phase contrast.
