Glass tube used to demonstrate standing waves and acoustical forces. When used in conjunction with a sound source (single frequency), plunger to alter the effective length of the tube and cork dust or talcum powder, the tube can be made to resonate and the powder will aggregate at nodes in the tube. Calculation of the wavelength and speed of sound can be calculated from the measurement of these nodes.

X-ray equipment

Phywe's new X-ray equipment is specially developed for teaching purposes. Used in laboratory work and demonstrations from the simplest transilluminations to Bragg diffraction and Compton scattering. Tungsten is normally used as a cathode in X-ray tubes. This means that the voltage must be up to about 65 kV before X-rays are formed. Phywe's X-ray tubes only need 10 to 12 kV for the process to start. For the X-ray equipment, there are 3 different X-ray tubes with the anodes made of Cu, Mo and Fe. These are built as plug-in modules and are replaced in a few seconds. Most laboratories can be connected to Phywe's data measurement system COBRA. The X-ray cabinet is equipped with a large space for experimental setups, clearly visible through a sliding door of acrylic plastic containing lead particles. Two safety switches are connected to the door. The equipment meets the EU requirements for X-ray equipment and is CE Approved.

Demonstration instrument for lossless measurement of DC and AC voltages. Due to the high insulation resistance (approx. 1014 ©), the instrument loads the voltage source insignificantly. At the same time, the voltage drop becomes negligible. The measuring systems are protected against disturbing fields and placed in plastic apparatus housings. The measurement can be studied from the back through a window. The large and clear scale and the design of the pointer make the instrument very easy to read even at longer distances. The scaling of the scale enables precision reading. Scale is also available on the back. The pointer is visible through a slit in the scale. Mechanical zero adjustment with thumbwheel. Protected against overload by flashing over spark gap. Connection with banana connectors to high voltage insulator and two sockets for ground connection on the top of the instrument. Used in electrostatic tests, often together with power supplies 765-1325 or eg for examination of the charge density on Faraday cages, conductors etc.

Arrow board with falling target

Apparatus for demonstrating the independence of the components of a composite motion. A force is exerted against an arrow, in the direction of a vertically set target, by means of a wire connected to an elastic band. When the arrow is released, the target is released at the same time. The arrow always hits the free-falling target, regardless of the position from which the arrow is released. Supplied with wooden plate with mounted strap, spring lock for attaching the target, arrow with string (approx. 275 cm) and target.
