Motor with rotor that lacks iron and thereby has a very low moment of inertia, which in turn enables fast start and stop or change of direction of rotation. The time from start to maximum speed (3000 rpm) is only 11 ms. Can be used for experiments with mechanical oscillations. The motor is most conveniently operated with a function generator.
