About this item
For acoustic detection of standing sound waves and for determining the wavelength of the sound source and then the speed of sound in air (Velocity=frequency×wavelength). The system is filled with water and a sound source (tuning fork) is held to the open tube end. By varying the height of the reservoir and the height of the liquid in the tube students can determine the wavelength using audible effects associated with standing waves.
- Consisting of a glass tube with scale and three clamping clips connected via a hose and hose clamp to a liquid reservoir vessel with ring holder
