N,N-Dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride (DMPD) is used for the determination of peroxidase. DMPD is converted into a red pigment of semiquinone nature. It is also used in the HID-AB (high iron diamine-alcian blue) staining procedures, which are used to differentiate between sialomucin and sulfomucin in the gastrointestinal tract.

Olomoucine is a purine derivative which acts as a potent and selective inhibitor of CDK1 (p34cdc2)/cyclin B and related kinases. It acts by competing for the ATP binding domain of the kinase. Of 35 protein kinases tested, olomoucine inhibited p33CDK2/cyclin A, p33CDK2/cyclin E, p34cdc2/cyclin B, p33CDK5/p35 and erk1 with IC50 of 7, 7, 7, 3 and 25µM respectively. The related kinases p34CDK4/cyclin D and p40CDK6/cyclin D3 were not inhibited or were less sensitive to olomoucine, IC50 > 1000 and 250µM respectively. PKC, PKA, PKG, CaM kinase II, MLC kinase, CK2, EGFR tyrosine kinase, p56lck, p56lyn, p60c-src, v-abl and insulin receptor tyrosine kinase are not inhibited or are weakly inhibited at 1mM. It delays mouse oocyte maturation and inhibits the growth of a variety of human cell lines including Rhabdomyosarcoma cell line Rh1, Rh18, Rh28 and Rh30; MCF-7, KB-3-1 and their adriamycin-resistant counterparts (IC50=18-86µM). It inhibits DNA synthesis in interleukin-2-stimulated T lymphocytes and triggers a G1 arrest similar to interleukin-2 deprivation. Can be used to synchronize cells in G1. Triggers apoptosis in target tumor cells in vitro and in vivo and in maturing cerebellar granule neurons. N9-Isopropyl-olomoucine and the negative control Iso-olomoucine are also available.

Interleukin-35 (IL-35) is a novel IL-12 family cytokine produced by regulatory T cells (Treg) but not by resting or activated effector T cells (Teff). IL-35 is a heterodimeric protein composed of EBI3 (Epstein-Barr-Virus-induced gene 3) and IL-12a (p35). EBI3 is a downstream target of Foxp3, a transcription factor required for Treg-cell development and function, and thus Treg-cell restriction of IL35 occurs. Regulatory T cells are essential for maintaining self tolerance and preventing autoimmunity, and IL-35 is identified as a molecule that mediates the immune suppression function of Treg-cell. As an inhibitory cytokine, IL-35 induces proliferation of Treg-cell populations but suppresses Th17 cell development. Studies in mice show the absence of either IL-35 chain from Treg-cell reduces the cells' ability to suppress inflammation using an experimental model for inflammatory bowel disease. IL-35 is suggested as a potential target of immunotherapy.

Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) is also known as cluster of differentiation (CD274) or B7 homolog 1 (B7-H1), is a member of the growing B7 family of immune molecules and is involved in the regulation of cellular and humoral immune responses. B7-H1 is a cell surface immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains within the extracellular region and a short cytoplasmic domain. Guanosine is a purine nucleoside comprising guanine attached to a ribose (ribofuranose) ring via a β-N9-glycosidic bond. Guanosine can be phosphorylated to become guanosine monophosphate (GMP), cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), guanosine diphosphate (GDP), and guanosine triphosphate (GTP). These forms play important roles in various biochemical processes such as synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, photosynthesis, muscle contraction and intracellular signal transduction (cGMP). When guanine is attached by its N9 nitrogen to the C1 carbon of adeoxyribose ring it is known as deoxyguanosine.
Guanosine is required for an RNA splicing reaction in mRNA, when a "self-splicing" intron removes itself from the mRNA message by cutting at both ends, re-ligating, and leaving just the exons on either side to be translated into protein. The antiviral drug aciclovir, often used in herpes treatment, is structurally similar to guanosine.

Coenzyme A is an essential cofactor in enzymatic acetyl transfer reactions. The principal biologically active forms of pantothenic acid are coenzyme A (CoA) and acyl carrier protein (ACP). In CoA, the business center of the molecule is the pantothenic acid metabolite 4'-phosphopantetheine. Coenzyme A is comprised of 4'-phosphopantetheine linked by an anhydride bond to the nucloetide adenosine 5'-monophosphate. 4'-Phosphopantetheine itself is comprised of pantothenic acid linked at one end, via an amide bond, to beta-mercaptoethylamine, derived from L-cysteine, and at the other end to a phosphate group.
