Interleukin-35 (IL-35) is a novel IL-12 family cytokine produced by regulatory T cells (Treg) but not by resting or activated effector T cells (Teff). IL-35 is a heterodimeric protein composed of EBI3 (Epstein-Barr-Virus-induced gene 3) and IL-12a (p35). EBI3 is a downstream target of Foxp3, a transcription factor required for Treg-cell development and function, and thus Treg-cell restriction of IL35 occurs. Regulatory T cells are essential for maintaining self tolerance and preventing autoimmunity, and IL-35 is identified as a molecule that mediates the immune suppression function of Treg-cell. As an inhibitory cytokine, IL-35 induces proliferation of Treg-cell populations but suppresses Th17 cell development. Studies in mice show the absence of either IL-35 chain from Treg-cell reduces the cells' ability to suppress inflammation using an experimental model for inflammatory bowel disease. IL-35 is suggested as a potential target of immunotherapy.

Guanosine is a purine nucleoside comprising guanine attached to a ribose (ribofuranose) ring via a β-N9-glycosidic bond. Guanosine can be phosphorylated to become guanosine monophosphate (GMP), cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), guanosine diphosphate (GDP), and guanosine triphosphate (GTP). These forms play important roles in various biochemical processes such as synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, photosynthesis, muscle contraction and intracellular signal transduction (cGMP). When guanine is attached by its N9 nitrogen to the C1 carbon of adeoxyribose ring it is known as deoxyguanosine.
Guanosine is required for an RNA splicing reaction in mRNA, when a "self-splicing" intron removes itself from the mRNA message by cutting at both ends, re-ligating, and leaving just the exons on either side to be translated into protein. The antiviral drug aciclovir, often used in herpes treatment, is structurally similar to guanosine.

Coenzyme A is an essential cofactor in enzymatic acetyl transfer reactions. The principal biologically active forms of pantothenic acid are coenzyme A (CoA) and acyl carrier protein (ACP). In CoA, the business center of the molecule is the pantothenic acid metabolite 4'-phosphopantetheine. Coenzyme A is comprised of 4'-phosphopantetheine linked by an anhydride bond to the nucloetide adenosine 5'-monophosphate. 4'-Phosphopantetheine itself is comprised of pantothenic acid linked at one end, via an amide bond, to beta-mercaptoethylamine, derived from L-cysteine, and at the other end to a phosphate group. The sulfhydryl group of 4'-phosphopantetheine, which is the business end of the coenzyme, forms thioesters with acyl groups producing acyl-CoA derivatives, including acetyl-CoA.
Coenzyme A facilitates removal of lipid peroxides by increasing mobilization of fatty acids, and promote repair of plasma membranes by activating phospholipid synthesis.

Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) is also known as cluster of differentiation (CD274) or B7 homolog 1 (B7-H1), is a member of the growing B7 family of immune molecules and is involved in the regulation of cellular and humoral immune responses. Olomoucine is a purine derivative which acts as a potent and selective inhibitor of CDK1 (p34cdc2)/cyclin B and related kinases. It acts by competing for the ATP binding domain of the kinase. Of 35 protein kinases tested, olomoucine inhibited p33CDK2/cyclin A, p33CDK2/cyclin E, p34cdc2/cyclin B, p33CDK5/p35 and erk1 with IC50 of 7, 7, 7, 3 and 25µM respectively. Concanavalin A (Con A) agarose consists of Con A coupled to 6% agarose by the cyanogen bromide method. Con A is a tetrameric metalloprotein lectin isolated from Canavalia ensiformis (jack bean).
