Sheep serum

For immunohistochemistry applications, sheep serum is frequently used as a blocking solution. Using sheep serum is useful for blocking the background cross reactivity with immunoglobulins which are already present in the tissue. When used before application of the primary antibody, sheep serum can eliminate Fc receptor binding of the primary and secondary antibody.
