Highly sensitive, photo-stable fluorescent probe for quantification of low concentrations of nitric oxide (NO). More sensitive to nitric oxide (NO) than DAF-2, More photo-stable and less pH sensitive than DAF-2, Not as cell-permeable as the diacetate derivative, DAF-FM DA , but it does not need to be activated by cytosolic enzymes. Essentially nonfluorescent until it reacts with NO to form a fluorescent benzotriazole.
