Methyl red pH-indicator

pH indicator. Azo dye used in the methyl red (MR) test to identify bacteria producing stable acids by mechanisms of mixed acid fermentation of glucose. The transition range is pH 4,4 (red) to pH 6,2 (yellow). Absorption: λmax 410 nm.
