Chloramphenicol ≥99% antibiotic agent

Broad spectrum antibiotic agent. Binds selectively to A2451 and A2452 residues in the 23S rRNA of the 50S ribosomal subunit. Prevents peptide bond formation and protein chain elongation inhibiting protein biosynthesis. Shows bacteriostatic effects against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in vivo. Orally active.
