PaqCI is a Type IIS restriction enzyme with a 7 basepair recognition sequence: CACCTGC(⁴/₈).

• Useful in Golden gate assembly - 7 bp cutter leads to less domestication problems
• PaqCI is an isoschizomer of AarI that effectively cuts to completion (unlike AarI)
• Requires 2 or more sites for cleavage. PaqCI Activator supplied to improve cleavage

It is sourced from an E. coli strain that carries the modified cloned PaqCI gene from Paucibacter aquatile. PaqCI requires multiple sites for efficient cleavage -- PaqCI Activator is included for optimal cleavage. This enzyme is supplied with NEB's CutSmart buffer and is heat inactivated.
